An American boy, Graham Blackwood, imbued in Russian spirit, fell in love with Russia’s domestic auto industry. He decided to buy a Lada. Vladimir found a 2986 Lada 2106 in St. Petersburg, Russia and bought her for $2500. He then spent a lot more on parts ($1100) and transportation, where the car sailed to the port of Red Hook, New York. The total transportation cost was $2160, then customs was another $750. In total, this exotic came to $6510 U.S. dollars, most likely the highest price ever paid for a used Lada.
